Meet the SOMA Broadcast Team

by

WARLPhotoOver the past few month WARL has built a broadcast team that is the envy of the area. Throughout the day you can hear the lastest news, traffic, weather, sports and entertainment. Why listen to any other station?

To learn more about our broadcast team here are some short bios:

Domenic Cotoia
My background in Radio Broadcasting starts as I attended the former Rhode Island Junior College, now C.C.R.I. in Warwick, R.I. as an on-air disc jockey at their “on campus” radio station for four years, and being appointed station manager in my Junior year. While a Junior, I also attended the former Rhode Island School of Broadcasting. After graduation, interned at a few local radio stations helping out in radio sales & commercials, including WLKW. Eventually got hired at a Fall River station (WSAR) to oversee satellite music programs, and within six months later, got a call from the Program Director of Attleboro’s hometown radio station (then-WARA) where I was hired to work on-air playing oldies on weekends and within just a few months, was promoted to their afternoon disc jockey, Production & music director!

Jim Corbin
Jim Corbin is a 30 year veteran of New England TV and radio weather forecasting. A native of Braintree, MA…Jim graduated from Lyndon State College in 1983. He briefly worked as a weather observer at the famous Blue Hill Observatory before starting his TV career later that same year. As meteorologist and environmental reporter, Jim has worked in Burlington, VT, Portland, ME, Boston, and since 1997 at channels 6, 10, and 12 in Providence as well as various radio stations around the area. His knowledge and experience in our climate makes his forecasts accurate and adding interesting tidbits about how the outdoors is affecting us makes his broadcasts informative.

Elaine Laroche
Elaine has a BA degree in Communications with focus on Film, Television and Journalism. She was one of the first reports/photographers for the North Attleboro Free Press. She also won both a National and State Wide Video Producer award. Recently, she graduated with a certification in Medical Assisting program and has a CPR certification.
